Rooms

Epi 1959 is not a typical hotel. With only 10 rooms, it almost feels like one is being handed the keys to a friend’s villa. The cabanas are intimate, even imperfect, but reflect a 1960s elegance just as when Hubert de Givenchy rented a cabana in Pampelonne. Paradise.

The CABANON PLAGE are the iconic larger cabanas facing the pool and Pampelonne beach. A true idyllic retreat, you may want to open up the curtains at night to take in a quiet scenery lit by a limpid moon.

The stone walls of the PETITE MAISON are the same as they were in the days that Hallyday and Stallone vacationed at Epi 1959. Located in a separate courtyard, this charming little house is surrounded by a lush Provençal garden, where the morning dew mixes with the sweet smell of pines that defines Ramatuelle.

The spacious SUITE LES OISEAUX is the largest accommodation at Epi 1959 — a vintage classic, with wicker chairs and elegant artwork. In addition to a dedicated outdoor space just a few steps away from your private sunbeds, the suite features a separate living room with a sofa turning into a queen-size bed. This room is ideal for those travelling with children, or if an extra companion can slip down to the coast to join you for a lost weekend.

History

Summer 1959: from Paris to St Tropez, Epi Plage was on everyone’s lips. Pampelonne was becoming a favourite holiday spot for all the celebrities, from Sacha Distel to Audrey Hepburn. At the heart of the phenomenon was a little hotel - now called Epi 1959 - where reigned all the elegance and style of that glorious era.

The scene of this paradise was recreated in particular by American landscaper Madison Cox, a plant virtuoso who designed some of the most beautiful gardens in the world, including the Majorelle garden in Marrakesh. That summer fresh feel was the basis of the transition to Epi 1959, a rebirth and return to the Golden Age of Saint-Tropez.
